The Love Trailer

Created in April 2020 in the midst of a global pandemic, The Love Trailer began when I asked my husband Shawn if I could turn his old hauling trailer into a camper. Using mostly hoarded craft supplies and party remnants, I created this tiny living room-to-bedroom camper inspired by love-themed motel rooms from the 1970’s and 80’s. At the height of COVID 19 anxiety, when everything from strange surfaces to our dearest friends felt like a threat, I found comfort in creating a “trailer of one’s own” as a place to celebrate softness, sensuality, and spectacle in a necessarily antiseptic moment in time.
